The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller is a unique “live documentary” directed by Sam Green with a live soundtrack by Yo La Tengo. It was performed at the Teatro de la Ciudad in Mexico City on 2016.
The documentary explores the life and work of R. Buckminster Fuller (1895–1983)—a futurist, architect, inventor, and environmental visionary famed for the geodesic dome and his ethos of “doing more with less”.
Green draws from Fuller’s extensive archives (Dymaxion Chronofile at Stanford) and weaves in historic materials—photos, film, sketches—into the live narration.
The project is structured to be unique and unrepeatable: each performance adapts to the moment, making every one a singular experience.
This Mexico City presentation was part of the Ambulante documentary festival, co-presented with Museo Tamayo and Proyecta under the Dymaxion México program.
